Programs - Learning with Technology

At Lara Primary School we are committed to embedding technologies into learning and teaching as we prepare out students to be 21st century learners.

Our teaching philosophy incorporates I.C.T. as an integral part of learning and all classrooms are supported and provided with interactive whiteboards.  Mobile technologies and multimedia tools are in each and every classroom.

All classrooms at Lara Primary School are well resourced: Prep have iPads and WINDOWS 8 touch-screens, Grades 1 - 4 have touch tablets and laptops, and Grades 5 & 6 operate in a 1:1 learning environment where each student has their own touch enabled mobile device.  To further enrich the technology experience at the 5 & 6 level, an I.C.T. specialist teacher supports students to use their devices innovatively, efficiently and collaboratively.

Additional technology is available to all students via a bank of touch tablets located in the library plus banks of iPads and netbooks located at the Environmental Centre, Serendip Sanctuary.  We offer exceptional access for tomorrow’s learners.

A critical component of I.C.T. at Lara Primary School is cybersafety.  We are committed to a whole-school culture of safe, ethical and responsible use of digital technologies.

Lara Primary School has a proud history of achievements in film and animation and has been awarded many accolades, some of which include:
