Reading
Throughout this term, students will read and respond to a variety of texts.
Students will participate in focused teaching groups which will align with their current learning goals.
Students will participate in small guided reading groups. They will be explicitly taught reading and comprehension strategies.
Writing
This term the students will learn how to write recounts using the correct structure and text features.
Students will participate in a range of experiences which will develop oral language and expand their vocabulary to form the basis of their recount.
Numeracy
During Numeracy sessions, students have opportunities to learn through ‘hands on’ activities and to develop links between everyday language and mathematical concepts.
This term our foci will be counting, place value and time.
Inquiry
The purpose of Inquiry is to enhance student learning by making logical links between the world we live in and the different curriculum areas. 1-2 students will be exploring the topic, ‘Who We Are – I Belong, You Belong’.
